Government to contribute EUR 6.5m to renovation of Oradea bishop’s palace
The Hungarian government is supporting the renovation of the Oradea (Nagyvárad) bishop’s palace with 2 billion forints (EUR 6.5m), the human resources minister said in Oradea, in western Romania, on Sunday.
Speaking at the close of the Oradea Saint Ladislaus days commemorating Hungarian king Saint Ladislaus I, Zoltán Balog called on Hungarians in Hungary and in the diaspora to “find a way to each other”.
The Saint Ladislaus days were held on 19-25 June in Oradea.
Hungary’s ongoing Saint Ladislaus memorial year marks the 940th anniversary of Ladislaus becoming the knight-king of Hungary and the 825th anniversary of his canonisation.
