Government to plough billions of forints into tourism next year
Budapest, June 22 (MTI) – Central resources for tourism will reach an all-time high of 21 billion forints (EUR 67m) next year, the government’s tourism commissioner, Gusztav Bienerth, said on Wednesday.
The amount earmarked for various tourism schemes this year will be doubled and an additional 10 billion forints will be available through a new tourism-development programme, he told a press conference.
These resources will be use to upgrade resorts as well as for domestic and international marketing purposes and for organising events, thereby creating jobs and boosting economic growth, he said.
