Gruesome details about the bomber in Esztergom: he decided to kill cops
The bomber from Esztergom posted a harrowing message on his social network: as if he had accurately predicted a year ago the horror that has now become a terrible reality.
The Hungarian tabloid Blikk published updates about the bomber in Esztergom. The perpetrator prepared to kill police officers, even a death trap awaited the uniformed officials.
All they want is to steal my car, even though I have no debts and I can prove it, but they defend the system and cheat, lie and show their power! I also promised all the rats, judges, prosecutors, policemen and executive parasites that they will be liquidated if they try. (…) If they send a commando team at me and come at me with a machine gun and a bullet-proof waistcoat, ten or twenty of them, will I cooperate? I will take as many of them as I can,
wrote László J. on his social media platform exactly one year ago.
A confused personality
As we wrote, last Wednesday, a massive explosion shook the outskirts of Esztergom. According to Blikk, the policeman-murderer came from the village of Kömörő in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, from where he moved to Budapest and then to Esztergom. The only thing that connected him to his home village was his property, which he had been trying to sell for some time. The building is right next to the mayor’s office, so the people who worked there knew him well. We know that he and his parents were wealthy at the time, and his mother was the chief accountant of the production cooperative. However, there was a tragedy in his family: his father hanged himself and his mother had a drinking problem before she died.
The locals were afraid of him. Some strangers went to see the property he had been trying to sell. For a while he lived in the capital, where he married a woman who bore him a son, but he has not had any contact with them for a long time,
explained Erika Kiss Bakuné, the administrator of the town hall.
Almost every manifestation of László J. is full of confused thoughts. This is also evident in the text he used to try to sell the house in Kömörö, which he claimed was a ‘place of survival’, for HUF 14 million (EUR 36,000). In his lengthy description, he explained that the environment in the big cities would soon become uninhabitable, without food, without drinking water and the streets dominated by gangs constantly fighting each other and the unarmed population. “Because of state terror, you will not be able to leave your own house without facing inhuman reprisals, as you may have experienced at the introductory level for the last two years,” he also wrote.
One of the bravest officer died during the raid
The victim, a father of two children, is mourned as one by the Counter-Terrorism Centre (TEK) and the entire Hungarian police force. His professional routine and his training put him on the front line of the operation unit that reached the bomber.
“The commando is a combat unit, whose aim is to defeat and eliminate the enemy, while the police’s intervention units have to solve every situation in such a way that no one, not even the bad guy, is hurt: the court decides his fate. We prefer the term ‘warrior’,” elaborated Imre B., a former member of the special services of the police.
The crime scene technicians of the Central Investigative Prosecutor’s Office (CIPO) were working for more than 48 hours.
The investigation began shortly after the crime took place with great effort and the involvement of experts and an arson expert. The inspection revealed that the perpetrator had built a 38-metre tunnel from the house, which remained intact despite the explosion.
