Gustav Klimt: The Immersive Experience exhibition opens in May in Budapest – PHOTOS

The interactive exhibition Gustav Klimt: The Immersive Experience will open to the general public on Monday. The production uses state-of-the-art technology to guide visitors into the wonderful world of Klimt, which continues to captivate audiences more than a hundred years after the artist’s death.
In the 2,000-square-meter exhibition space, visitors can experience the Austrian painter’s most iconic works, such as Lady with a Fan, Death and Life, and of course, The Kiss. The latter is perhaps the most reproduced painting by the master of Art Nouveau, whose meaning and allure have been the subject of much interpretation.

Two gigantic, detail-rich installations ensure that visitors can explore every layer of the famous scene depicted in The Kiss. Another unforgettable and visually striking part of the exhibition is the golden tunnel, which every visitor passes through. The shimmering gold color is a recurring element in Klimt’s art.

In addition to audiovisual solutions, dozens of Klimt reproductions help guide visitors through the Austrian artist’s life and work. In the vast immersive hall, anyone can relax and immerse themselves in Klimt’s unmistakable colors and motifs while lying on lounge chairs. Guests can also enjoy a VR experience, where digital technology brings the painter’s Art Nouveau masterpieces to life — works that remain popular to this day on bags, t-shirts, tattoos, and all kinds of accessories.

Gustav Klimt: The Immersive Experience has already entertained and educated audiences in many cities across two continents. The exhibition is brought to Budapest by the same team that previously introduced the highly successful immersive exhibitions of Van Gogh and Monet, as well as the Lufiland production, to Hungary.

„This production reveals the mind of a timeless painter to both experienced museumgoers and young audiences. We’re proud to present yet another blockbuster in Budapest. We believe Klimt will offer a truly special experience for both newcomers and devoted fans,” said Dudi Bercovici, CEO of Hadran Events, the organizer of the exhibition.
