One of Hungary’s most beloved Hollywood stars, Golden Globe winner Kiefer Sutherland, has been captivated by Budapest, posting several videos of his visit.
Kiefer Sutherland charmed by Budapest’s beauties
Hungarian audiences know Sutherland from blockbuster hits such as the Netflix sensation Designated Survivor, the gripping series 24, and the 2023 espionage thriller Rabbit Hole. Yet he is not merely an actor; he is also a musician, currently on a European tour that brought him to Budapest, where his footage reveals a city that has thoroughly enchanted him.

Speaking in his videos, Sutherland notes it is his first time in Budapest. He performed aboard the A38 ship on the preceding day before last, describing the concert as a resounding success. With a free day yesterday, he devoted it to exploring the city and immersing himself in Hungary’s rich history and culture. He wandered through the heart of Budapest, paying visits to St Stephen’s Basilica and the Chain Bridge, as his clips attest.
He was particularly intrigued to learn that Buda and Pest were once distinct settlements, united only in 1873 (along with Óbuda). Sutherland adds that he is immensely taken with the Hungarian capital and recommends it wholeheartedly as a destination for anyone able to visit.

The European tour continues
Sutherland’s European tour began on 14 April in the Netherlands, proceeding to Sweden, Denmark, and Poland. He expressed regret at having stayed in Warsaw only for the concert, vowing to return for proper sightseeing.
Today he performs in Vienna, followed by dates in Italy, Switzerland, Spain, France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. The tour concludes on 17 May in Newcastle.
True to form, Sutherland checks in from nearly every stop. His videos highlight Hamburg’s houses perched over canals, Copenhagen’s hurtling cyclists, and his delight with Malmö and Nijmegen alike.
