Home rental rates rose significantly again in Hungary compared to last year

Home rental rates in Hungary rose 7.9pc year-on-year in May, data compiled by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) from listings site Ingatlan.com show.

Rental rates in the capital increased 7.0pc. In a month-on-month comparison, home rental rates edged up 0.8pc nationwide and slipped 0.2pc in Budapest.

In the capital, the average monthly rental rate was HUF 260,000, Ingatlan.com said. The average monthly rental rate was HUF 230,000 in Debrecen, Hungary’s second-biggest city. In the county seats of Szeged, Pécs and GyÅ‘r, rates were between HUF 160,000 and HUF 190,000.
