Attraction Black Light Theatre gained worldwide recognition when they won the popular British talent show Britain’s Got Talent five years ago in 2013. Now, overcoming 31 other Britain’s Got Talent acts, the theatre group won the Britain’s Got Talent World Cup, Szeretlekmagyarország.hu and NlCafe.hu report.
The Hungarian black light theatre group melted the judges’ and the audience’s heart for the first time with their incredibly emotional and beautiful first performance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2013.
The performance told the story of two people who fall in love, get married and have a child together, then the father goes to war, and the story takes a darker turn.
The group ended up winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2013, but their success story was far from over.
BGT World Cup
Britain’s Got Talent World Cup is a competition among the best acts that have been performed on the show throughout the years. This year, the best performers of the last 12 years (more than 700,000 applicants) competed with one another.
The judges chose the Hungarian Attraction Black Light Theatre as the BGT World Cup Winner in 2018, which means that their performance was considered to be the very best among all of the other acts on the show in the last 12 years.
The group posted a few lines and a short video on their Facebook page to thank the show and the judges:
“I think WE WON! Literally can’t believe it! The result is ATTRACTION is the ‘MAIN ATTRACTION’ in the BGT History of all time! We know we have done something special 5 years ago and won the competition! But now this result means much more! We are very proud! Thank you very much for your support and believing in Attraction!”
The group was founded in 2004 by Zoltán Szűcs, who was a performer who achieved national success in the mid-1990’s with his pop group Hip Hop Boyz.
Attraction consists of twelve members, although only eight were able to perform on Britain’s Got Talent: Torda Katalin, Tóth Alexandra, Fehér Norbert, Lakatos Andrea, Szűcs Zoltán, Szentinek Csaba, Szabados Flóra and Kántor Janka.
As winners of Britain’s Got Talent, Attraction performed at the Royal Variety Performance in 2013. As Daily News Hungary reported earlier, the group has also been invited to perform at the 2014 CCTV New Year’s Gala on China Central Television. Over one billion people traditionally watch the TV show during the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Daily News Hungary has recently reported on a similar success when a Hungarian girl called Vivien Vajda dazzled the judges of America’s Got Talent with her amazing jump roping performance.
