Among the EU capitals, electricity costs of the households have been the lowest in Budapest for the fourth month, residential customers’ average price of natural gas is only lower in Budapest.
According to hvg.hu, in international comparison, MEKH experts compare the average electricity and natural gas prices of people living in the EU capitals and in Beograd since the summer of 2013, according to the official data of Eurostat, the European Commission’s Directorate-General of Statistics.
MVM group, a major player in the domestic energy sector contributed to the permanent reduction of the population’s energy costs by about a quarter in accordance with the government’s energy policy – the announcement said.
To the reduction of the average price, MVM Zrt. and the group managed by it, contributed with the safe operation of the Paks nuclear power plant – which gives the 53.6% of the domestic electricity production and works at the lowest cost among the Hungarian power plants – the continuous optimization of the favorable supply sources and the reducing of certain elements of remuneration – MVM said.
