Hungarian-Georgian economic cttee holds first meeting
(MTI) – The first meeting of the Hungarian-Georgian mixed economic committee took place in Budapest on Tuesday.
Agreements to increase bilateral cooperation in the areas of energy, water management and agriculture were concluded, the press office of Hungary’s trade chief, Peter Szijjarto, said.
Szijjarto held talks with Mikheil Janelidze, Georgia’s deputy minister of the economy and sustainable development.
It was agreed that Hungary would promote the implementation of the European Union Association Agreement that Georgia signed at the EU Eastern Partnership Summit in November with a view to supporting the country’s European integration.
Bilateral trade between Hungary and Georgia rose by an annual 7 percent to USD 40m in the first nine months of the year.
