Ambulance and police cars swarmed to Újpest in the Morning of Christmas Eve after a man stabbed one of the two police officers.
According to Blikk, the whole street feared the 35 year-old-man, Péter M. In the morning of Christmas Eve he attacked a police officer with a 25 cm long bayonet in Újpest. The officer got hurt, and the other officer took the man down.
According to people who know Péter, it is possible that he was taking so many drugs that he did not find his way home. Then he kept knocking on someone else’s door. Péter immediately attacked the police officers – he stabbed one of them, Péter (26), and the other one, Erika (23), shot him twice.
Even after being shot, the man went after the police officer to the next floor and then received a deadly shot.

The man lived in a small, decent street in Délegyháza with his son and partner, but as he was taking drugs regularly, his partner told him to leave. The man then moved back to his mother in Újpest but visited his son regularly.
A woman living in the same street told Blikk: “Luckily, he does not live in Délegyháza anymore, we could not handle him. One time he was smiling, and at another, he was aggressive. We were rooting for the woman to make him go because he destroyed both her and the child’ life. Besides taking drugs, he has also joined a sect recently and was saying he will take the child there, away from Covid. But of course, the mother was smart enough and did not let him.”
