Hungarian Parliament to table amendments to facilitate agreement with EC
Parliament will hold a three-day session this week, with amendment proposals designed to facilitate an agreement with the European Commission on the agenda.
At the session starting at 1 PM on Monday, lawmakers will discuss and vote on amendments to sections of the criminal procedural code on exercising public office or handling public funds in crimes of particular significance.
Other proposals on the agenda include legislation allowing the government to consult the public on 90 percent of draft legislation, to allow customs support of the EU’s anti-corruption agency OLAF when conducting local inspections in Hungary, and to align Hungarian legislation on requesting data of public interest with EU guidelines. Another proposal would set up an Integrity Authority and an anti-corruption working group to protect the financial interests of the EU in Hungary.
