Hungarian Travelingmonkey starts up UK-focused site

Hungarian traveling advice provider and travel deal negotiator site Travelingmonkey has recently started up its Facebook duplicate tailored for people in the United Kingdom, the founder of the company Ákos Tóth said in an interview with business daily Világgazdaság on Wednesday.

Travelingmonkey offers tips and advice for self-organised trips as well as cheap travel and accommodation opportunities.

The Hungarian Facebook page of the company has 430,000 followers while the UK version already has more than 5,000.

Copying the original Hungarian model, the UK Facebook site focuses exclusively on deals and trips available in the country.

The UK site has three administrators, but a UK company will only be formed if the site takes off. Travelingmonkey is also considering expanding into Romania and Poland.

The company’s own Hungarian site has weaned itself off Facebook as only 35 percent of its visitors come from the social network site and the company now also has 105,000 subscribers on Viber.
