Hungary contributes half a million dollars to Transcarpathia culture, education
Budapest, December 18 (MTI) – Hungary will contribute 500,000 US dollars for the renovation of educational and cultural institutions in Transcarpathia by the end of 2014, a government official said today.
After the signing ceremony, Zsolt Németh, the parliamentary state secretary for foreign affairs, told a news conference in Budapest that Hungary supports “an independent, sovereign and strong Ukraine,” and the current agreement supports this goal, too.
The funding agreement is part of the Eastern Partnership programme for 2013-2014. It was signed by Németh, Ivan Baloga, chairman of the Transcarpathian Counties’ Council, and László Brenzovics, chairman of the charity foundation for the Hungarian teacher-training college in Transcarpathia.
