Hungary & Slovakia to build two new bridges
Representatives of Hungary and Slovakia signed an agreement in Bratislava on Tuesday to construct two new bridges to link the two countries, one across a branch of the River Danube and the other spanning the River Ipoly, the innovation and technology ministry reported.
The Danube branch bridge, to be built at Dunakiliti in north-western Hungary, will serve cyclists and pedestrians, while the other bridge at Őrhalom will replace an old wooden structure and enable vehicular traffic across the Ipoly, the statement said.
Implementation of the bridge projects will be financed from the 2014-2020 Interreg Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Program’s budget.
The agreement was signed by Hungary’s State Secretary László Mosoczi and Slovak Transport and Construction Minister Árpád Érsek.
