Severe weather and a series of fallen trees have forced the closure of several roads in western Vas County, disrupting traffic to the HungarianâSlovenian border, authorities have confirmed.
FelsĆszölnökâMartinje road blocked
From 7:30 PM on 20 February, the 7454 road between FelsĆszölnök and Martinje (FelsĆtĂłtlak) was completely closed between kilometre markers 25 and 28, reaching up to the HungarianâSlovenian state border. As a result, the border crossing in this area is currently inaccessible by car, InfoStart reported.
Other areas affected
The disruption is not limited to the border. Near Csörötnek, the connecting 7453 road between ĆriszentpĂ©ter and Rönök has also been blocked by fallen trees at kilometre 12. The affected stretch has been closed temporarily while technical crews work to clear the obstruction, Blikk wrote.
Authorities from the National Directorate General for Disaster Management are continuously working to remove obstacles, though the time required for restoration depends on the prevailing weather conditions.
Recommended detour
Drivers are advised to use the BajĂĄnsenye road border crossing instead of the closed FelsĆszölnök crossing. For the latest traffic updates and any further restrictions, motorists should consult the continuously updated reports provided by Ătinform.
Authorities urge travellers to check road conditions before setting out and to exercise heightened caution in the affected region.
