Budapest (MTI) – Hungary’s stand was very close to Egypt’s on topics discussed at talks in the capital, Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi said in an interview broadcast on public television late Saturday, a day after he met Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

“We can agree on practically all matters, Hungary’s stand is closer to Egypt’s and far more positive with a view to Egypt than those of many European countries,” the president said on news channel M1.

He said individual states could not solve the region’s problems, rather a solution requires “a broad international collaboration that includes the Arab world but also the European Union”.

He said Europe’s intent to participate in the settlement of matters had grown in recent months, adding that a peaceful, political solution was the priority.
