Important: Closure of border traffic from Hungary to Ukraine
The closure affects both incoming and outgoing traffic.
Due to a power outage on the Ukrainian side, border traffic is suspended at the road border crossing points in Barabás and Lónya from 7 AM on 18 December 2022.
Travellers to Ukraine are advised to use one of the Záhony, Beregsurány or Tiszabecs road crossing points to avoid waiting, police.hu writes.
Travellers going abroad are advised to check the opening hours and current waiting times of border crossing points before departure on the Határinfó page of the police website and by using the Rendőrségi Útinformációs Rendszer (Rutin) mobile app.
