According to the official statement of the Hungarian police, the Indian national who robbed a Budapest downtown currency exchange office was arrested only 1.5 hours after he committed the crime.

Based on the statement, the victim was an employee at a currency exchange office in Budapest’s 5th district, on the Szent István promenade. The perpetrator entered the office in the morning and returned in the afternoon. He waited patiently until the male employee returned from his pause and opened the interior door of the office from the service area. Then he attacked him from the back to enter the closed space.
A brawl started, but the employee could not stop the perpetrator. The Indian national took multiple bundles of money from the service desk counter. The employee tried to activate the magnetic lock of the office door, but the perpetrator jerked it with such strength that he managed to break it and run away.
