InterCapital Securities has become a member of the Budapest Stock Exchange and is the first Croatian company to do so, moving closer to the InterCapital Group’s goal of connecting capital markets across the Central and Southeast European region.

InterCapital Securities has entered the Hungarian capital market by becoming a member of the Budapest Stock Exchange (BSE), an occasion marked by a ceremony and the ringing of the bell. Headquartered in Zagreb, InterCapital Securities is one of the leading brokerage firms in Croatia and Slovenia, and is now also the first Croatian company to become a member of the Budapest Stock Exchange. InterCapital Securities is also a member of the Zagreb, Ljubljana and Bucharest Stock Exchanges, while the InterCapital Group has for 25 years played a prominent role in the development and management of ETFs focused on Central and Southeast European markets.

During the ceremony, commemorative tombstones were presented to InterCapital’s representatives. Zoltán Kurali, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Hungary, and Tibor Tóth, President of the Management Board of the Budapest Stock Exchange, handed the tombstones to Ivan Kurtović, President of the Management Board of InterCapital d.d., Matko Maravić, Managing Director of InterCapital d.d., and Danijel Delač, President of the Management Board of InterCapital Securities.

“We are thrilled to become members of the Budapest Stock Exchange. We work tirelessly on connecting capital markets across the Central and Southeast European region. All these markets are small in themselves compared to Western Europe and the US, so they are sometimes overlooked by international investors. The only way to put all of us on their radar is to ease access to these markets and to offer new products and services. The InterCapital Group plans to expand its ETF offering on the BSE, and InterCapital Securities plans to place emphasis on the Hungarian market across all its business lines (market making, trading and research).” – said Danijel Delač, President of the Management Board of InterCapital Securities.

“We are pleased to welcome InterCapital to the Budapest Stock Exchange. Over the past 25 years, the company has grown into one of the leading investment firms in the region. Its arrival strengthens the international connectivity of the Hungarian capital market and supports the further development of the ETF market, which remains a strategic priority for the Budapest Stock Exchange.” – added Tibor Tóth, CEO of the Budapest Stock Exchange.

This year the InterCapital Group marks its 25th year in operation, providing securities brokerage, investment banking and asset management services to local and international financial institutions, corporations and investors. The company also offers corporate finance advisory, equity research and market-making services.

Over the past quarter century, the company has become one of the leading independent capital markets participants in Central and Southeast Europe, with a strong focus on institutional clients. According to last year’s figures, InterCapital holds a 29% share of equity trading on the Zagreb Stock Exchange and a 31% share on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange equity market. The company serves more than 5,000 Croatian and international institutional clients, employs over 80 professionals and has, throughout its history, received numerous prestigious industry awards and recognitions.

InterCapital is also a key participant in the regional ETF market. Its innovative ETF offering includes, among others, funds tracking the Romanian, Polish, Slovenian and Croatian equity markets. Through these products, the company seeks to make investment opportunities across the region accessible to a broader international investor base, while contributing to greater connectivity between Central and Southeast European capital markets.

By entering the Budapest Stock Exchange, InterCapital further strengthens the international profile of the Hungarian capital market, while supporting the company’s strategic goal – connecting capital markets across the Central and Southeast European region.
