International companies operating in Hungary tend to have long-term plans for the country
The Government is working to create a favourable business environment for innovative, profitable enterprises which are ready to expand, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the logistics facility of Jabil Circuit Hungary Ltd, a project implemented by Infogroup Ltd, in the city of Tiszaújváros in North-eastern Hungary.
The start of this project is yet another sign of the long-term commitment of large enterprises to Hungary, Mihály Varga noted. Cooperation concerning suppliers, partnerships aiming to develop vocational education and the companies’ future plans all reflect growing trust, the Minister added, commenting on the latest business confidence report by the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
According to the report, more than two-thirds of some one hundred companies surveyed said that their current business situation was good, the best result since 2005.
The Tiszaújváros-based company, a subsidiary of US conglomerate Jabil, has been one of the largest employers in the region. As a result of the HUF 3.5bn (EUR 11m) project by Infogroup Ltd, a logistics base of some 20 thousand square metres is to be completed by the summer of 2018.
