Corvinus University of Budapest and Wizz Air sign strategic partnership

The agreement will open up several opportunities for internships, practice-focused learning, from guest lectures to mentoring.
On 18 December, Corvinus University of Budapest and Wizz Air signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the Corvinus Gellért Campus. The document was signed by Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of the University; Lajos György Szabó, Vice-Rector for Academic Programmes, Dávid Baranyai, Head of Corporate and Institutional Relations; Marion Geoffroy, Wizz Air Group People Officer; and Evgenia Ivanova, the airline’s Head of Recruitment, Organisational Development and Compensation.

The partnership aims to give students direct access to the airline’s professional expertise and day-to-day operations, while offering deeper insight into the aviation sector. Both sides intend to develop programmes that support students’ professional growth and strengthen the links between the academic and business worlds.
The agreement covers several areas, including guest lectures, a mentoring scheme, internships, and participation in the Corvinus Career Expo. The company will also have the opportunity to use the Gellért Campus Makerspace studio for workshops, and its employees will have access to the University’s adult and postgraduate courses.
“Corvinus is working to become a leading university in economics and social sciences in the region, and this requires corporate partners with a strong international presence, such as Wizz Air. Our aim is to provide an academic environment where students gain real, hands-on experience and corporate partners find valuable links to the economic and social decision-makers of the future. This strategic agreement with Wizz Air marks another important step in that direction,” said Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of Corvinus University of Budapest.
