Jobbik organises demo against refugee reception centres
Budapest, August 11 (MTI) – Between 400 and 500 people gathered in Nagykanizsa, in south-western Hungary, on Monday to demonstrate against government plans to build two temporary refugee reception centres.
Protesters holding banners and flags of radical nationalist party Jobbik and a far-right youth organisation were addressed by party lawmaker Balazs Ander, who said that “Hungary cannot take the cross of the Third World on its shoulders.”
A petition was also circulating in protest against the planned reception centres in nearby Sormas and Martonfa.
