Katalin Bogyay wins Women of Distinction Global Leadership award
Katalin Bogyay, permanent representative of Hungary to the United Nations, has won the Women of Distinction 2017 Global Leadership Award from women’s association Celebrating Women International.
She is receiving the award in Nassau on Saturday in recognition of her outstanding international achievements spanning several decades, bringing positive changes in the lives of hundreds of people and her dedication to helping and making the world a better place.
Other recipients this year are former US First Lady Laura Bush, Baroness Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, former prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago, and Malta’s First Lady Michelle Muscat.
Bogyay said in an interview with MTI that women’s leadership skills and sensitivity to recognise problems play a serious role in preventing and resolving conflict around the world.
