Budapest (MTI) – Lawmakers next week will finalise the key numbers of the 2015 budget, vote on a bill that would penalise loss-making supermarkets and hold a debate on judicial practices.
On Monday lawmakers will discuss bills in preparation for final voting on Tuesday, after answering questions and interpellations.
Tuesday’s agenda includes the 2015 budget bill, with a vote on approving its key numbers. According to the proposal, the budget would be approved with revenue of 16,313.9 billion forints (EUR 53bn) and expenditures of 17,190.3 billion forints resulting in a deficit of 877.4 billion forints. Based on these figures, revenue will drop by 67.7 billion forints while spending will be 67.9 billion forints lower compared to Economy Minister Mihaly Varga’s original budget draft. This means the budget deficit would drop by about 200 million forints.
Another vote is expected on a bill in which the government proposes prohibiting the operation of supermarkets that are regularly loss-making.
A report on last year’s operation of the National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) and a new bill on insurance activities is also on the agenda.
On Wednesday, lawmakers will debate a report by the head of the Kuria, Hungary’s supreme court, on the state of providing legal uniformity in Hungary as well as on the operation of the National Judiciary Office last year.
