Man brutally assaults woman with a pitchfork
It seems like the frustration due to the coronavirus pandemic that struck the world unprepared and this summer’s rapidly changing weather brings out the worst in people. This period seems to be particularly violent and tragic as more and more incidents like this surface almost every day.
According to the Police, this violent crime motivated by revenge happened on 31 July in Farmos. When an unsuspecting woman was riding her bicycle, she heard a horse-drawn carriage come by from behind her, but instead of it simply bypassing the woman, the man driving the carriage tried to run his victim over. The woman lost her balance and fell into the bushes next to the road. The violence did not stop there, however.
As 24 writes, the man hopped off of the carriage and grabbed a pitchfork, shouting: “I’ll kill you!”,
while making stabbing motions towards the woman. The victim suffered light injuries on her stomach, legs, arms, and her back, but she managed to disarm her attacker. This made the aggressor even angrier, and he started attacking her with his axe. The woman tried to counter the hit with her arm, and she suffered injuries on her arms and head while doing so.
Fortunately, the victim was once again able to disarm her attacker, and this caused the man to get back on his carriage and run away.
The police were able to catch the 64-year-old attacker. He confessed everything and said that he assaulted the woman because he wanted to hurt the woman’s partner, whom he had been on wrong terms with. The police have since arrested the man, and he is facing the charge of attempted assault by the Nagykáta Police Station.
