Hungarian man secretly filmed child pornography using a hidden camera

The Pest County Prosecutor’s Office has pressed charges against a man who secretly monitored and recorded activities taking place in a home’s bathroom through a hidden camera, thereby creating child pornographic footage.

The man placed a camera in the attic

According to the indictment, in January 2025, in a village near Gödöllő, the man installed a webcam in the attic of a house he had previously lived in, positioning it to have a clear view of the bathroom. He could observe the footage live on his mobile phone and also record the videos on a memory card.

A family with three minor children lived in the house, the youngest being of preschool age. Until 4 February 2025, the man made several recordings showing the children taking showers, using the toilet, or their mother bathing the youngest child. In these videos, the children’s genitals were visible.

The recording ended when one of the children discovered the hidden camera through a crack in the ceiling.

The Pest County Prosecutor’s Office charged the man with the felony of producing pornographic recordings depicting a person under the age of twelve, as well as the felony of unlawful data acquisition. The prosecution has proposed a prison sentence, a ban from public affairs, and a lifelong ban from any activity that would bring the man into contact with minors.

The Budapest Regional Court will decide on the man’s guilt.

Parents starved their bedridden adult daughter to death

Also this week, the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Prosecutor’s Office has charged an elderly woman who caused months of suffering to her bedridden adult daughter, which ultimately led to her death.

As we reported, according to the indictment, the victim, who had been physically disabled since birth, lived with her elderly parents. From 2024 onwards, she was no longer able to move independently. Despite this, the parents kept her on the upper floor of their two-storey house, where there was no toilet.

39-year-old disabled woman died because of her parents

The woman could not leave her room unaided. The parents failed to feed or hydrate their bedridden daughter and neglected her hygiene. As a result, the victim became severely emaciated, and her body ulcers became infected, leading to her death at the age of 39.

During the criminal proceedings, the victim’s father passed away.

The prosecutor’s office accuses the mother of the felony of homicide committed with particular cruelty, as she caused prolonged suffering to her child. The prosecution recommends a 15-year prison sentence and a 10-year disqualification from public affairs, provided that the woman admits her crime and waives her right to trial.
