Military hangar complex opens at Pápa air base
Budapest, November 17 (MTI) – A military hangar complex was opened at the Pápa air base in western Hungary on Thursday.
The complex is capable of fully servicing C17 aircraft and thanks to the unique investment, the use of the aircraft will be more cost-efficient, NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Defence Investment Ernest J. Herold said at the opening event.
The complex has been set up at a cost of 9.5 billion forints (EUR 30.7m) by 12 countries, including nine NATO members and two NATO partner countries, he added.
The complex is expected to play a major role in the long-term management of security threats that increased over the recent period, he said.
