Budapest, October 26 (MTI) – Hungary’s development ministry will put out road and railway development bids totalling nearly 220 billion forints (EUR 709m) in the next few days, the ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The ministry added that between November and February companies will be invited to submit bids for a similar amount so that the bulk of projects could be completed by a deadline in 2018.
The prospective projects include railway reconstruction around Lake Balaton, electric development of the railway line to Esztergom, and an upgrade of the tracks between Budapest-Kelenfold and Szazhalombatta, as well as new sections to the M30, M35, and M85 speedways.
