More new flights announced from Hungary
It was announced in May 2018 that Wizz Air would launch seven new flights from Debrecen Airport. Four flights launched last December already, but there are three other destinations that will be available only from the spring of 2019. Check out the new destinations below.
Four new flights were launched last December to Dortmund, Doncaster, Basel and Barcelona. Passengers can travel to Larnaca, Cyprus, Palma de Mallorca, Spain from 1 March, and the last flight to Valletta launches form the 1st of April, Dehir and Turizmus.com report.
As Daily News Hungary also reported, many new flights were introduced recently from Budapest. Airports in the countryside also seem to get their fair share of new flights thanks to Wizz Air and other low-cost airlines. It has caused quite the controversy that certain airlines plan to move certain flights out of the capital.
The Airbus A320 to Cyprus will take off on Wednesdays and Sundays, to Mallorca on Sundays, to Valletta on Mondays and Fridays.
Together with the new additions, Wizz Air offers its passengers 13 different destinations from Debrecen Airport: Barcelona, Paris, Eindhoven, Tel-Aviv, Doncaster, London, Dortmund, Milan, Moscow, Basel, Palma de Mallorca, Larnaca and Valletta.
Apart from Wizz Air, Lufthansa takes passengers from Debrecen to Munich, Germany five times a week. The airline plans to introduce new flights in the future, due to the economic investments that are scheduled to happen in Debrecen.
In addition, Debrecen Airport will offer charter flights to Zakynthos (Greece), Antalya (Turkey), Burgas (Bulgaria), and Hurghada (Egypt) during the summer.
