More than 2,500 migrants enter through southern border illegally
Budapest, September 9 (MTI) – Altogether 2,529 migrants entered Hungary on Tuesday through the southern border illegally, 455 children among them, local police told MTI.
The migrants, most of them declaring themselves as Syrians, Afghans and Pakistanis, were picked up by police around the border station of Roszke.
Across the country on Tuesday, police caught 2,770 people, 14 of whom were charged with people smuggling, the national police headquarters (ORFK) said in a statement.
