More than half of Hungarians below 40 pro-marriage
Budapest, January 13 (MTI) – More than half of Hungarians below the age of 40 support marriage, according to a survey by Kod Market, Opinion and Media Research Institute commissioned by online news portal 888.hu.
Fully 56 percent of the survey’s respondents agreed with the statement that “marriage forms the basis of a regular family life”, the website said.
Forty percent of respondents said they “accept” the institution of marriage with the right partner while 4 percent said they reject it altogether, saying that it is “outdated” and “useless”.
The phone survey was carried out on January 4-9 with a sample of 800 citizens aged below 40.
