More transparent environment could attract more investors, says Dutch ambassador

Daily News Hungary

Budapest, September 2 (MTI) – A more transparent and predictable business environment could attract further foreign companies to make investments in Hungary, the Dutch ambassador said on Wednesday.

Gajus Scheltema spoke on the sidelines of a visit to an assembly plant of bicycle maker Accell Hunland at Toszeg in central Hungary, and noted that his country was already the third to fourth largest investor in Hungary.

The ambassador added that nearly all major Dutch firms have branches in the country, and suggested that a more favourable environment could attract a number of others ready to do business.

Accell Hunland, a subsidiary of the Dutch Accell Group, was founded in 2001. The company has since assembled nearly 2 million bicycles.
