Natl mobile payment system turnover HUF 11.2 bn in first year
Budapest, July 8 (MTI) – Turnover of Hungary’s national mobile payment system reached 11.2 billion forints (EUR 35m) in its first year of operation, the chief executive of the system’s operator, Nemzeti Mobilfizetesi, said on Wednesday.
Parking fees generated 7 billion forints of the turnover and motorway vignettes 4.2 billion, said Mihaly Veres. The system processed 16.8 million parking fee transactions and 1.1 million motorway vignette purchases during the period, he added.
The company now wants to launch sales of public transport tickets. The system could start in some areas from the autumn already, Veres said.
