At the beginning of July, Budapest Airport welcomed another long-haul flight; flynas launched its direct Budapest-Riyadh service. This addition has enriched the route network available from the Hungarian capital with a completely new and unique destination.
New direct flight from Budapest Airport to Riyadh
The flight operates three times a week—on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays—between the capital of Saudi Arabia and Budapest during the summer season, through to 30 September. The carrier operates the approximately five-hour flight using the latest Airbus A320neo models, which offer a more environmentally friendly and quieter travel experience.

Riyadh offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity, showcasing both historical treasures—such as the 15th-century At-Turaif district—and a skyscraper-dominated, almost futuristic skyline. It is recommended primarily for those who wish to experience the hospitality of Saudi culture, are open to culinary specialties, and are curious to explore the opportunities offered by a modern, vibrant metropolis– even during a short weekend getaway.

The connection is expected to be particularly significant in terms of inbound traffic. Beyond Riyadh itself, the service offers passengers onward connectivity through flynas’ network, including access to destinations across Saudi Arabia via its hubs in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha and Qassim, as well as international destinations such as India, Pakistan and Ethiopia. The new flight is also expected to further strengthen economic, investment, tourism and cultural ties between the two countries.
