Defence Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi has appointed Lieutenant General Zsolt Sándor as chief of the general staff of the Hungarian Armed Forces, and Sándor has accepted the position.

Announcing the decision on Facebook, Ruszin-Szendi said that the key issue facing the Hungarian Armed Forces in the coming period was not only the development of capabilities but also the restoration of faith in people.

“That is why I have made a very important decision. I have asked Lieutenant General Zsolt Sándor to accept” the position of chief of staff, he said.
