Independent foundation to operate ZalaZONE vehicle proving ground

Lawmakers voted on the establishment of an independent foundation to operate the ZalaZONE vehicle proving ground (West Hungary) in a vote in parliament on Wednesday.

The legislation was approved with a vote of 134 for, 44 against and 6 abstentions in parliament. The authors of the legislation acknowledged the international standing of the proving ground, but said ZalaZONE’s further development required an even broader cooperation with universities, research institutions, state developers and private companies, served by the establishment of an independent framework in which to operate.
