Hungarian deputy PM decorates Chinese investor Frank Liu
Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén presented Chinese investor Frank Liu, the founder and chairman-CEO of the CHI FU Hungary group, with the Hungarian Golden Cross of Merit on behalf of President János Áder, on Tuesday.
Liu was presented the award at the recommendation of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in recognition of his efforts in advancing trade relations between Hungary and China.
At Tuesday’s ceremony, Liu was praised for having donated 21 million protective masks to Hungary and Hungarian communities beyond the border since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
In his laudation,
Semjén thanked Liu on behalf of the Hungarian government for the donation.
Liu was also praised for his purchase and relaunch of meat company Pápai Hús.
In his acceptance speech, Liu said he believed Hungarians were “a people destined for success”, adding that he felt fortunate to have become a “fellow citizen” in a period of recovery.
