Justice Minister Judit Varga said on Monday that she shared German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s view that the locking of US President Donald Trump’s user account by Twitter was reason for concern.

“It is not my duty to comment on other state’s internal policy but sometimes it can’t be slipped over,” she said on Facebook.

“In the last few days, private censorship has reached a new level and has struck in an unprecedented way. In digital imperialism, it no longer matters whether one is an average user or the democratically elected president of the world’s leading power, since it has become clear that both can be silenced at the touch of a single button,”

she added.

Varga said this highlighted “how vulnerable we really are to global control of liberal social media”.

As we wrote yesterday, Zoltán Kovács, the state secretary for international communications and relations, said that Twitter had in an “arbitrary move” blocked 200 of his followers “overnight” without any explanation or notification in advance, read more HERE.

Twitter is a private company based and regulated in the US, so for once Varga is right – it is none of her business. She seems to forget that Twitter allowed Trump to spout his every thought on their platform, no matter how right wing or inflammatory, for the 4 years of his presidency as well as time before that. It is only because he directly incited insurrection against the government jeopardising the lives of both Republicans and Democrats in the House, that Twitter stopped him from using their platform. Their house, their rules. If people don’t like their rules, feel free to use another platform – nobody is forcing anyone to use Twitter or Facebook.

Newspapers are not required to present the opinion of any person outside of staff. And even the full time staff of nespapers are subject to editorial review. This may be said for digital platforms such as Twitter and Facbook. Trump, Orban, Xi, Putin, Erdegan. None of them have an inalienable right to pollute the world with their scare tactics, lies or fascist whims on these privately or publicly held platforms. Governmental bodies can regulate these companies. But until the government becomes an all powerful source(the Chinese Communist Party for instance), no independent platform is required to publish dangerous or inflammatory dialogue. The number of lies trump has told since taking office can be seen here:

This soon to be former president has been a danger and a public nuisance. An ego maniac and self-serving troll. Trump is a danger to humanity, not just the USA. He should never have had such power, but that is the unfortunate result of an ignorant populus. Twitter and the others have a responsibility to cut him off from their platforms, not to promote his ignorance and hatrd.

Last week Trump committed himself to the treasonous act of insurrection against the country he took an oath to protect. It is a capital crime and he needs to be tried and be held accountable for this and all of his corrupt acts. Twitter has no responsibility to promote his form of lowliness. Either Judit Varga and Trump’s other supporters in Hungary, have been duped by this dangerous con man, or they have their own dark and selfish agenda.

Suddenly Fidesz is concerned about freedom of expression…. must be the joke of the year.

Canada and the States has been invaded by left wing leaders, since Obama and Trudeau. Terrible. Massive corruption and Trump was the only brave leader, willing to take them on.
