Hungarian police confiscates 11,000 boxes of cigarettes
Police officers cooperating with the Hungarian National Tax and Customs Administration have managed to detain a man who has been suspected of smuggling products to Hungary.
According to the Hungarian Police, they have inspected a car on January 5 in Tiszavid when they discovered a whopping, almost 11,000 boxes of unmarked cigarettes.
The unusually large quantity of cigarette boxes had no mandatory seal on it to be distributable in Hungary.
The driver, a 33-year-old man was detained while the 10,929 boxes of cigarettes were confiscated by the Hungarian Tax and Customs Administration.
According to the info provided by the Police, the boxes had a value of over 15 million forints (€ 41,666) on the market.
