National media authority NMHH received 824 reports of online legal violations via its Internet Hotline service last year, 13 percent more than in 2018, the authority said on Tuesday, marking international Safer Internet Day.
Most cases (276) concerned child pornography while 148 cases concerned the release of unauthorised content, the authority said in a statement. Fully 142 cases of phising were reported, it added.
The number of reports of the sexual abuse of children jumped threefold since 2018, NMHH said.
Safer Internet Day was an EU SaferBorders initiative launched in 2004.
