It’s time for comedy! Most Budapest comedy! – a theatre performance in English
After longer break ASTERION PROJECT is bringing back to Theatre their most successful comedy MOST BUDAPEST!
“A comedy depicting Budapest life from the perspective of 11 expats from different countries. Learn how foreigners from diverse cultures adjust to the Hungarian culture, language and way of thinking.” – Gary Lukatch
The performance will take place in FÉSZEK MŰVÉSZ KLUB ( Kertész utca 36), on the 10th of October at 7 P.M.
Most Budapest was premiered in 2019 and had six sold out shows, but because of the pandemic it was put on hold.
The play was written and directed by Čarna Kršul, Croatian actress and director, who founded Asterion Project four years ago.
“After living for the last 19th years as an expat in Hungary, I came to an idea to write a play about how foreigners who are coming from different cultural backgrounds feel living in Budapest, what’s their perspective about Hungarian people, language, customs. The play is performed by 11 actors from 11 different countries (Spain, India, Mongolia, Vietnam, Russia, USA, Brazil, Australia, Croatia, Jordan, Hungary). Most Budapest is following different life paths, which like puzzles meet and connect at some point. What are the reasons people move to Budapest? How is it to be the only foreigner at your workplace or even a loud American? Is it possible to learn the Hungarian language? If yes, was it easier before you didn’t understand a word? How is to be married to a Hungarian? You came because of love, or studys, but you stayed because of Budapest. It’s a magical city that expats can’t resist. Working on this project was an amazing experience, since every actor in the team came from different background, culture, with different energies, perspectives which produced very interesting, artistic progress. This play will help Hungarians understand better expats and another way around. The title of the play has different meanings in a different language, in Hungarian “most” means now, in Croatian “most” means bridge.”
