Many restaurants around the country offer special St. Martin’s Day menus, but the biggest and most authentic celebration of the festival happens in picturesque Szentendre.
Date: 9 November 2013, Saturday – 10 November 2013, Sunday
Venue: Szentendre
Skanzen is the open-air folklore museum at Szentendre, and what better venue could there be to celebrate this traditional festival built around mouth-watering goose dishes and crisp new wine.
Many restaurants around the country offer special St. Martin’s Day menus, but the biggest and most authentic celebration of the festival happens in picturesque Szentendre. Inside the museum building visitors can taste all manner of food prepared with various parts of goose, as well as the new wine and heart-warming pálinkas.
Children can partake in exciting workshops, like pumpkin carving and making a potato gun. Urbanites can get a taste of rustic life by partaking in autumnal group activities that follow the harvest in the Feather Plucking Houses.
