Liverpool FC has completed the signing of Milos Kerkez from AFC Bournemouth in a significant GBP 40 million deal, marking a major addition to their squad ahead of the new season.
The 21-year-old left-back has signed a long-term contract with the Premier League champions and is set to compete for the left-back position at Anfield, joining a summer of heavy investment by the club that will see spending pass the GBP 200 million mark.
The Hungarian international underwent his medical and formalised his move at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre, as the official statement writes.

“It’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, [the] biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.”
“After this, I’ll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”
“I just want to thank everyone for really showing me big love, even before it will be announced now. And keep supporting the team like you support always, because you’re the biggest fan base in the world.”
“I’m going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield. I can’t wait to hear the roar. And see you soon.”
As Sky Sports reports, before his move to Liverpool, Kerkez had two impressive seasons with Bournemouth, making 74 appearances, scoring two goals, and providing eight assists.
His performances in the Premier League last season were notable, with six assists and two goals in 38 league appearances, making him one of Bournemouth’s standout players. Liverpool had been tracking him for some time, and the transfer was facilitated by Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes, who originally signed Kerkez for Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023.
