OIC delegates gather for iftar in Budapest – Photos
In the heart of Christian-majority Hungary, the Islamic ritual of iftar, marking the breaking of the Ramadan fast, is a less common sight. Yet this ancient tradition plays an important role in bringing Muslims together in Hungary and around the world.
Though small, the Muslim community in Hungary is a patchwork of ancient ethnic groups and recently arrived newcomers. This vibrant mosaic enriches the Hungarian social landscape with cultural richness and traditions.
Iftar and OIC
The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Budapest organised a special gathering of ambassadors and diplomats from Islamic nations. This event celebrated unity: representatives of the 57 member countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Hungary prayed and had dinner together.
