PM Orbán: Hungarians don’t want to die for Ukraine’

While Hungarians sympathise with Ukrainians and “see their plight”, they don’t want to die for Ukraine, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video on Facebook on Tuesday.

“We don’t want our children to be taken to Ukrainian fronts and Ukrainian territory within the Hungarian military, and for them to return in coffins from there,” he said.

“We don’t want Hungarians’ money to go to Ukraine. We don’t want utility fees to grow two-and-a-half-fold because of the aid provided to Ukraine and its EU membership,” he said.

President Zelensky is sticking it to us because Hungarians don’t want to die for Ukraine,” he added.
