Budapest (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met Viktor Zubkov, head of the board of directors of gas company Gazprom, in Budapest on Monday.

The meeting marked the 20th anniversary of Hungary’s gas supply agreement with the Russian company, Orbán’s press chief, Bertalan Havasi, told MTI.

Development minister Miklós Seszták and government office chief János Lázár also attended the talks.

Topics on the agenda included the security of Hungary’s energy supply, for which long-term supply contracts are crucial, the press chief said. A readiness to maintain and strengthen cooperation was also expressed at the talks.
