Kazan (MTI) – Relations between Russia and Hungary have remained good despite the existing problems with the European Union, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said after meeting Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orban in Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia on Sunday.
Orban said Hungary’s position is that despite all the difficulties, all the benefits of links with Russia have been preserved and this approach will be maintained, Russian news agency TASS reported.
“Hungary will continue to be a good partner for Russia in global issues and in other issues, as well,” Orban added.
Medvedev said Hungary and Russia maintain cooperation in a number of areas including energy and agriculture, and “this is equally beneficial to our countries and nations”.
He noted that attending the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan was a good opportunity to meet and discuss current issues.
