Photos: Actor Benedict Cumberbatch impressed by the Hungarian State Opera House

Benedict Cumberbatch is in Budapest to film his new Netflix series.

According to the Opera House’s Facebook post, the English actor attended Sunday’s opera performance of Don Quixote, starring Tatyana Melnyik (Kitri) and Kiyota Motomi, who is making her debut this year as Basil. The production impressed Benedict Cumberbatch, who gave a standing ovation to the artists involved and then congratulated the company in person backstage.

Benedict Cumberbatch is currently in Hungary filming the Netflix series Eric, which is expected to be released by the streaming service in early 2024. The English actor was accompanied to the screening by several members of the series’ cast.
