PHOTOS: Region’s largest slide park to be built in popular Hungarian spa town

The Municipality of Harkány is starting an experiential tourism investment in the Harkány Spa. According to official information from the municipality, five new attractions will be added to the existing seven-track and the indoor four-track slide park, making it the largest in the region.

The Municipality of Harkány decided to accept one of the tenders at last week’s council meeting. Thus, the spectacular tourism development will soon begin. It is understood that the new launch tower will be the highest point in the city, Lelépő reports.

The Harkány Spa and Beach Baths (Harkányi Gyógy-és Strandfürdő) celebrated its bicentenary in 2023. The 13.5-hectare spa offers more than 7,500 square metres of water. In 2022, the spa was extended with the Harka Water World (Harka Vízivilág).

In 2024, in addition to the construction of the slide park, further developments will take place at the spa. The construction of a solar power plant at the facility has started with the help of subsidies. In addition, the installation of new changing rooms is planned for this year, as well as the repair of defects in the spa pool’s tiling and the reconstruction of its shading, Lelépő writes.
