PM Viktor Orbán: “the West will fail”
The nation is a “great invention of the West and the heart and soul of the free world”, but all nations are currently under attack, Prime Minister Viktor Orbén told the 2nd Conservative Political Action Conference Hungary (CPAC Hungary) in Budapest on Thursday.
At the same time, “the nation state is also the Achilles’ heel of the Western world”. “Should nations crumble and evaporate, the opportunity for a free life will be lost and the West will fail,” he said.
“We are all under attack, in Europe as in the US, and that attack in not economic in nature … we are facing a virus attacking the most vulnerable point of the Western world, the nation,” Orbán said.
The will of the people, that is democracy itself, is the “weak spot of progressive forces”, the “antidote to the progressive virus is here in Hungary, accessible to all … it works well and is adaptable everywhere,” Orbán said.
“All you have to do is write No migration, no gender, no war on a banner before the elections…” he added.
Hungarians have stopped illegal migration at the border, banned gender propaganda in schools and are working for peace without compromise, Orbán said, adding that “people can feel when it’s their lives on the line, and will vote for the political force protecting the nation and representing their values.”
Hungary is the place where the defeat of progressive liberals and a conservative, Christian political turnaround was not only talked about, but also accomplished, the prime minister told the event organised by the Center for Fundamental Rights.
It is hard to imagine a country in a worse situation than the one Hungary was in in 2010, Orbán said.
“The question at that time was whether conservative policy could achieve a recovery in a country bankrupted by the rampage of the liberals,” he said.
The experiment worked, “and we’re proof that only conservative politics can be of help where liberals and leftists brought a country to ruin”, Orban said.

Unfortunately, it will. The people of the West have been living too well for too long. It’s not for nothing that the appercu “devil makes work for idle hands” was made all those hundreds of years ago. When you have few if any struggles in life, you give into debauchery, cynicism, hedonism, nihilism. They have turned their backs on patriotism, religion, and family–which are, like it or not, the cornerstones of a successful civilization (I’m an atheist, BTW)–and the results are plain to see. When you have nothing to live for, then you have nothing to fight for, so you don’t, and you become easy pickings for the Leftist lunatics and globalist-socialist evildoers. The only question is whether the West’s decline will be swift (like the Romans’) or protracted (like the Ottomans’). Probably the former; everything happens faster these days…

Je werd toen gerespecteerd en voor een patriot aanzien! Onze links globalistische liberale Europese leiders hebben het in hun toespraken altijd dat ze niet zullen dulden dat men onze huidige manier van leven zal afnemen? Het is voor mij een groot vraagteken wat ze daarmee bedoelen?? The man who runs the country that has the highest inflation rate in Europe with schools and health care in complete crisis, its’ railway system crumbling, standard of living dropping and driving the capital city of Budapest to the verge of bankruptcy has no business lecturing anyone about failure. Orban is pushing Kremlin ideology. Russia is on its’ way to become a failed state mired in a mafia pit of corruption. The Western model is based on three pillars which are rule of law (ring a bell?), economic freedom and social freedom. Any society that does not have those three will not surpass the Western model and no better model as yet been devised. Orban rails against migrants who want to go to the West in droves but forgets to tell you that it is caused exactly because of the relative success of the West. Go migrate to Russia or China and see how you like it.
